DHAKA - At least 75 people were missing as a passenger-packed trawler capsized in Buriganga River near Bangladesh's capital Dhaka Saturday night.

Police and locals were quoted by private news agency UNB as saying that a small cargo vessel collided with a trawler packed with around 100 passengers Saturday night, leaving the trawler upside down and 75 passengers missing at 8:15 pm local time.

Around 20 passengers of the capsized trawler managed to swim ashore.

Several rescue teams of firefighting units from different fire stations rushed in and were conducting search for the missing passengers.
