BOGOTA - Eight people were killed and four others were injured in gunmen attacks in a discotheque in southwestern Colombia on Sunday morning, local police said.
Eight people were killed by about a dozen of gunmen, while the four injured were not in serious conditions, said local police director William Montezuma. Investigations were underway to identify who were the murderers.
"There are some indications that it may be done by new criminal bands or the National Liberation Army (anti-government guerrillas)," said Jorge Eliecer Pinto, a military commander in the region.
Several illegal armed gangs of the guerrillas or the new criminal bands have presence here and both are engaged in drug and arms trafficking at the strategic corridor to the Pacific Ocean.
