MANILA, Philippines - Officials say a tropical storm has left 15 people missing in the northern Philippines after flooding a wide swath of metropolitan Manila and forcing more than 75,000 people to flee their homes in the capital and nearby provinces.

Civil Defense Administrator Benito Ramos said Saturday that one of 10 missing fishermen from Catanduanes province has been rescued off about 75 miles (120 kilometers) away to the south in rough waters churned up by Tropical Storm Meari.
He says three other missing fishermen from nearby Camarines Norte and three other people separately swept away by floodwaters have not yet been found.
Science Undersecretary Graciano Yumul says up to 15 more cyclones could affect the country for the rest of the year.
