WASHINGTON - The cost of US military operations and humanitarian assistance in Libya was $716 million as of June 3 and is projected to reach $1.1 billion by September 30, 2011, according to a White House report to Congress released on Wednesday.

The report stated that these funds would be found in the existing Defense Department budget, and would therefore not require a supplemental appropriations request to Congress.
