BAGHDAD - At least eight people were killed and 27 wounded when gunmen on Tuesday stormed an Iraqi provincial council building in Baquba after two bombs exploded, police said.

Officials at the police command centre in Diyala Province northeast of Baghdad said a suicide bomber blew himself up after a car bomb exploded outside the building, and this was followed by the gunmen's assault.
