9 killed after dump truck flips over in Philippines

MANILA - Nine people were killed after the dump truck they were riding flipped over in Southern Philippines early Friday morning, local media ABS-CBN News reported.

The report said that about 70-80 people were riding a dump truck en route to a palm oil plantation when it hit a soft patch of earth in Sitio Limbacan, Barangay Tingalan in Misamis Oriental.

The truck then flipped over several times, where six passengers were immediately killed.

Three others died after being rushed to hospitals, while the rest of the passengers were brought to separate hospitals in Cagayan de Oro, ABS-CBN News reported.
