At least 10 killed in poll violence in Nigeria

GOMBE, Nigeria - At least 10 people have been killed in different parts of northwest Nigeria's Gombe state after the presidential election.

The action of the youths followed the announcement of the result of the President elections in the state, he added.
Kujir Nyazo, a security guard in the house, said the youths came at about 2 pm local time on Sunday, ransacked the house, and set it ablaze.
According to him, the angry youths started throwing stones in the compound and thereafter set ablaze some cars in the house and inferno engulfed the whole house.
Similarly, a policeman was Sunday killed by some irate youth along Biu road in the state capital. The policeman was said to have been hacked on his way back home,after closing from duty at around 6 am local time at BCGA area in the state.
State commissioner of police Suleman Lawal confirms the death of the policeman, but refused to comment on other violence matter.
The police chief told a news conference that restriction has been placed on movement in Gombe from 6 pm to 6 am local time.
