10 killed, 15 injured in N India road accident

NEW DELHI - At least 10 people were killed and 15 others injured in a road mishap in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh Monday, said police.
The mishap happened when a bus plunged about 15 meters down when a road caved in near Koti area.
Nine people died on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries on way to a local hospital where 15 others are receiving treatment.
The source did not reveal how many people were on board when the accident happened.
The casualty may go up later in the day as some passengers are still trapped inside the bus, police said. Rescue workers have been trying to take them out.
A local government official personally gave a compensation of 5, 000 rupees ($100) to each victim's family and 3,000 rupees ($60) to each injured.
