Road accident kills 11, wounds 17 in W Afghan

HERAT, Afghanistan - Road accident killed 11 people and injured 17 others in western Afghan province of Herat on Sunday, an official said.

"A mini-bus was heading to provincial capital Herat city along the Herat-Toorghondi highway this morning around 10 am local time when it collided with a truck coming from opposite direction, as a result 11 people were killed on the spot," a hospital  official Barakatullah Mohammadi told Xinhua.

He said 17 other travellers were injured in the mishap.

According to Mohammadi some of the injured people are in critical condition.
