5.7-magnitude earthquake hits eastern Indonesia

JAKARTA - A shallow moderate quake with magnitude of 5.7 rocked Papua in eastern most of Indonesia on Tuesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.

The quake struck at 08:39 am Jakarta time (0139 GMT) with epicenter at 194 km northwest Jayapura of Papua and at the depth at 10 km under seabed, the agency said.
