In a futuristic city, the chaplet-K was invented. The chaplet allowed people from different places to chat face-to-face through a hologram image. However, the lack of personal interaction made people cold; they no longer communicated in person. The main character became accustomed to the indirect communication, while his lover recognized they were becoming estranged. One day, the whole city's communication network broke down, and the man finally realized the weakness of indirect communication. He realized it couldn't facilitate their love, so he tore up the chaplet and ran to his lover.
