Go for gold

One Central Macao and MGM Macao welcomes the Year of the Snake with a glittering exhibition in two venues featuring the designs of contemporary Chinese artist Wang Kaifang. Glorious China, Auspicious Macao - Wang Kaifang's Gold Brick Exhibition features 12 gold bricks that each tell a different story. For his sculptures, Fang uses 24-carat gold foil and techniques such as 3D printing and fine casting. The largest work is a towering 2.5 meters high.

Folk's inspiration   

Contemporary Chinese Folk Dance's production of Feng Shui draws inspiration from yangko (a popular folk dance), which is Shandong's harvest music with roots in the rhythmic folk dance of the Han ethnic group. Traditional yangko props include drums, sticks and fans. The dance also incorporates the relationship between the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth.

Asian rainbows

Colors of Asia is an exhibition with hundreds of works from 13 Asian regions, categorized by the colors red, yellow, blue, green and black with white. Crafts, festival goods, food and spices are on display, alongside packaging to show how different Asian cultures vary in their use of color symbolism.
