This clay building was built in 1786, covering an area of 1,300 square meters. The Gannan (southern Jiangxi province) Hakka walled villages, a special architectural type, was included into China's World Cultural Heritage Tentative List on Nov 17, 2012. The whole structure of the building resembles a small fortified city, containing halls, storehouses and living areas. It is regarded as the "cradle of Hakka".
