Summer Garden Party held in the DRC

The Third Annual Summer Garden Party was held in the Diplomatic Residence Compound of Beijing on Aug 18. Ambassadors, diplomats, and their families from over 60 countries, as well as delegations from international organizations and news agencies were all at the party.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to open the new basketball court and the football field within the DRC. Guests were also treated to spectacular singing and dancing performances, and a buffet.
Along the edges of the lawn were many stalls, set up by embassies in China to promote their culture and tourism, and by residents of the DRC to sell knick-knacks and unused household goods. Hair salons, language centers, duty-free shops, the China Daily newspaper, and other enterprises also set up booths at the party.
The party aimed to enrich the lives of the residents' in the DRC community, and to promote cultural exchanges among different countries.
