Red tourism season starts in Yan'an

The First China Yan'an Red Cultural Tourism Season started on June 18 and will go on until Oct 31.
Co-sponsored by the Yan'an municipal government and the Shaanxi Tourism Administrative Bureau, the activities aim to promote the red tourism industry and the development of related industries. Liu Jinping, deputy director of the National Tourism Administration, said that the central government plans to develop red tourism to highlight the revolutionary tradition.
Yan'an, a city in northern Shaanxi, was the seat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from 1935 to 1948 and has a large number of sites associated with the revolution.
