The bureau of culture, sports and tourism of Qingyang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province, recently held a library publicity and service week.

The aim was to give local citizens an insight into libraries in the digital era and encourage more people to visit the district library. The activities included a reading party, photo and painting exhibitions, as well as showing films at the square in the district cultural and art center.

Similar event will be held annually to promote the sharing of public cultural resources and to encourage the use of public cultural facilities.
