Celebrate Maritime Administration Day in Macao with a view from the top. A UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, Guia Lighthouse, will be open to the public for one day only. Experience its unique spiral staircase and step back in time to when this was the China coast's tallest skyscraper at the time of its construction.
Next door, Church of Our Lady of Guia is decorated with meticulously restored frescoes, while Maritime Museum offers free cruises to Ilha Verde and the Inner Harbor for seafaring folk who wish to celebrate their day on the water.
10 am-5:30 pm, May 20. Guia Lighthouse, Guia Hill. 853-289-5481.
