SEOUL - South Korea beat China 3-2 in their opening game of the final round of Asian zone World Cup qualifying tournament here on Thursday.
South Korea went 1-0 ahead in the 21st minute thanks to an own goal by Chinese captain Zheng Zhi.
The South Koreans doubled their lead in the 64th minute when Lee Chungyong headed home a cross from Ji Dongwon. The home side made it 3-0 only two minutes later as Koo Jacheol netted a goal from close range.
Yu Hai slotted home to pull one goal back for China in the 74th minute before midfielder Hao Junmin curled in a freekick in the 76th minute.
