RIO DE JANEIRO - China's Hui Zicheng set a world record to win the men's 50m rifle 3 positions gold medal at the ISSF World Cup stage in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
Hui survived a late challenge from the USA's Matthew Emmons to register a final score of 463.7 points, beating the previous record set by Russia's Nazar Louginetsin in 2014.
Emmons pocketed silver with 461.6 points while China's Zhu Qinan clinched the bronze medal with 451.2 points.
Hui's victory took China's medal tally at the Rio 2016 Olympic test event to seven (two gold, two silver and three bronze), making them the most successful team of the 10-day competition, which concluded on Sunday.
Russia was next on the medals table with 2-2-1, followed by Ukraine 2-0-1.
In Sunday's only other event, Sweden's Marcus Svensson won the men's skeet gold medal.
Svensson held his nerve in a tense playoff in the final against India's Mairaj Ahmad Khan. Italy's Cassandro Tammaro was third.
