SHANGHAI -- The world's top two players Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray were both hardly tested before reaching third round at the Shanghai Rolex Masters tennis tournament on Wednesday.

World number one Djokovic made short work of Martin Klizan from Slovakia with a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 victory while Murray also registered an easy win over American Steve Johnson 6-2, 6-4.

In his second clash this season with Klizan, Djokovic converted five of his 10 break points as he raced to the victory in just 63 minutes.

"Klizan is a very flashy player," said Djokovic, who surged to a sixth China Open crown in Beijing last week.

"I knew that coming into the court. I knew that he's talented. He can play very fast but with a tendency to make a lot of unforced errors, which he did. He made my life a bit easier on the court today. I was trying to serve, move him around the court. Just played as much as I needed. It was enough to win."

The Serb is looking to win the Beijing-Shanghai double for the third time after making it in 2012 and 2013.

The 28-year-old Murray, a two-time former champion at Shanghai, also had no trouble beating his opponent in 74 minutes.
