Four Chinese women players earn French Open spots

PARIS - Peng Shuai and other three players from China have been given direct acceptance into the main draw of women's singles at the May 24-June 7 French Open, according to the Federation of French Tennis on Thursday.
The men's and women's singles draw will each feature 128 players, including eight wildcards apiece to be named at a later date.
Of the 108 women players named in the list, there are the 21st-ranked Chinese Peng Shuai, Zheng Saisai (74), Zhang Shuai (81) and Wang Qiang (96).
Other positions have all been occupied by top 107 players in the WTA rankings as of April 13, 2015, except Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in the 35th, followed by two players with a protected ranking, Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States and Laura Robson of Britain.
In the men's case, five players have a protected ranking and they have joined the top 99 to make the main-draw list before eight wildcards are announced and the remaining places are open to qualifiers.
According to Roland-Garros tournament direction, eight men and four women French players have given direct acceptance. And they are: Gilles Simon (13), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (14), Gael Monfils (18), Richard Gasquet (27), Adrian Mannarino (30), Jeremy Chardy (35), Julien Benneteau (39) and Benoit Paire (90) in the men's singles draw; and Alize Cornet (28), Caroline Garcia (29), Kristina Mladenovic (58) and Pauline Parmentier (89) on women's part.
