RIO DE JANEIRO - FIFA has cleared Pepe to play in Portugal's last Group G match by banning him for only one match for his red card against Germany.
FIFA says Pepe will serve his suspension when Portugal plays the United States on Sunday. He can play against Ghana next Thursday.
Pepe was sent off during Portugal's 4-0 loss for clashing with Thomas Mueller, and head-butting the German forward who was sitting on the field.
FIFA says it fined Pepe 15,000 Swiss francs ($16,800).
Maximiliano Pereira of Uruguay also got a one-match ban for kicking Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell late in a 3-1 loss for the South Americans.
Pereira will miss Uruguay's game against England on Thursday, and can return against Italy on Tuesday. Pereira was fined 10,000 Swiss francs ($11,200).
