NANNING, China - An international yacht race will be held in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region starting from Oct 17, according to local authorities.
A total of 26 domestic and foreign teams will take part in the Liuzhou International Inland River Yacht Race, which will take place along the Liujiang River, an inland river in Guangxi's Liuzhou city.
The five-day competition will employ the J80 yachts for the participants. A J80 yacht is typically 8-meter long, with a capacity of holding about five people, a perfect sailboat in inland rivers.
Initiated in 2011, the annual race is an effort to boost Liuzhou's international influence as well as its tourism.
