2014 World Cup mascot unveiled, waits to be named

An armadillo curls up into a ball. The armadillo, an endangered species living in the Brazilian inlands, rolls up its body like a soccer ball in face of external threats and protects itself with armor. The Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and the 2014 World Cup organizing committee have chosen it as the mascot for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, in an aim to highlight the importance of environment protection, considering its image to be easily accepted by children worldwide.  [Photo/Xinhua]
