PARIS - French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announced on Saturday the recruitment of Italy-based center back Thiago Silva.
"Silva... has been transferred from AC Milan by Paris Saint-Germain, for a duration of 5 years," the club said in a statement posted on its website.

No details were given on the agreement's value but media reports said PSG would pay 62 million euros (about $75.94 million) to sign the 27-year-old defender.
Playing in Italian Serie A for three seasons, Silva was considered one of the world's best central defenders.
Paris Saint Germain was one of Europe's top-spending clubs last season, spending more than $130 million on new players as new Qatari managers are investing billions of petrodollars on the club.
