GUANGZHOU, China - English Premier League giants Liverpool edged China's second class side Guangdong 4-3 in the friendly on Wednesday night and the Reds' two new comers Charlie Adam and Conor Coady made impressive debut.

The Reds scored two goals in each half, leading 4-1 when the match went into injury time. However, the hosts mysteriously scored twice just before the final whistle.

Liverpool's new duo came to the field in the second half and impressed the fans. The 18-year-old Coady scored the Reds' third goal in 70th minute, while the former Blackpool captain Adam quicly became the anchor of the Reds with his accurate passing and hard working runing.

"It was good to see Conor Coady score his first goal and for Charlie to make his debut. To score four goals is obviously a bonus but it's only our first game and there's lots of work still to do," Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said.

The match ended Liverpool's three-day trip to China.

"We've had a fantastic reception in China," Dalglish said. "It's nice to come here and let fans get closer to the Club. It's important to keep doing it in the future because you could see tonight how much it meant to everyone in the stadium. The support was fantastic."
