China, Brazil to promote co-op in culture, education, sports

BEIJING - The presidents of China and Brazil on Tuesday signed a joint communique after their talks in Beijing, pledging the two countries will continue to promote cooperation in culture, education, sports and tourism.
The two countries reiterated their willingness to deepen exchanges in education and highlighted the importance of exchanges between students, teachers and scholars from both countries, according to the joint communique.

The two sides also expressed their satisfaction with the establishment of the Confucius Institute in Brazil and agreed to continue promoting the teaching of Chinese and portuguese in both countries.
China and Brazil emphasized the importance of closer cooperation in the creative economy and cultural industry, with both agreeing to discuss the establishment of a national cultural center in each country and the timetable for China Culture Month in Brazil and Brazil Culture Month in China.
The two countries agreed to share experience in the preparation and organization of major international sporting events while promoting echanges of athletes of the two countries.
China and Brazil also highlighted the huge potential for cooperation in tourism sector and pledged to make more efforts to better servicesby simplifying visa and residency procedures.
