SAN DIEGO - David Beckham gave Los Angeles Galaxy fans plenty of reason to cheer in his return match Wednesday, despite Mexico's Club Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente defeating the Major League Soccer team 4-3 in a shootout.
Gilberto Mora opened the scoring for Xoloitzcuintles in the friendly at Torero Stadium, before Beckham fired in a corner that was redirected past keeper Zemeno in the 41st minute to level the scores.
Landon Donovan gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead in the 75th when he converted a pass from Chris Burchall.
The Mexican club rallied in the 82nd minute when Miguel Lopez scored a penalty.
