DOHA, Qatar - Seeded players Francesca Schiavone, Li Na and Shahar Peer were beaten in straights sets in the second round of the Qatar Ladies Open on Wednesday.
The fourth-seeded Li Na, who beat Wozniacki to reach the final of the Australia Open last month, was beaten 6-2 6-1 by Czech Klara Zakopalova, while her compatriot Peng Shuai upset third seed Francesca Schiavone 7-5, 6-3 to secure a spot in the last eight.
Peng says "playing against is always difficult, but I was the better player today."
"I missed a lot of easy balls. I should take some days off perhaps, but there is no time," said the French Open champion Francesca.
