Ancient horsemanship brought back to life

An equestrian reins a horse to perform the maneuver, “Dancing Horse Catching Bowl” in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, Oct 17, 2013. The horsemanship is a revival of feats performed by court horses as seen in a drawing on a silver pot from the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 -906), unearthed in Hejia village, Xi’an city in the 1970s. It was also described in poems of the Tang Dynasty. It took a four-year study of horse culture to finally bring the ancient horsemanship to life. [Photo/Xinhua]
