Providing relief in a disaster area needs a profession approach and plain common sense can go a long way, says an article in People's Daily (excerpts below)
Public training drill in areas where quakes or other disasters can occur is important. No one can prevent disasters but their toll can be reduced if people are prepared.
The first step in dealing with any disaster is usually the step taken long before the crisis. Preparation is not prevention but it can go a long way to saving lives.
