China lost its important position in the world in the 19th century because of foreign aggression and struggled for decades to emerge out of what it considered a humiliation heaped on it by the outside world. But there is no reason for China to see that period as one of humiliation, because it also taught it to choose the way it should follow and the ones it should avoid to become a strong nation.
What China should do now is to create an environment that would encourage indigenous development so that it can catch up with or even overtake the developed countries. That is why China needs to root out corruption from society. For that, it has to strictly implement the existing laws and improve the education system.
China is a country with many ethnic groups and cultures which can help it to take forward the nation's creative and innovative mission. And by attracting talents from abroad, China can enjoy the vitality it needs.
