This year's two sessions of China's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference invited more detailed and profound observations from abroad, says an editorial in People's Daily. Excerpts:
After the two important meetings, the international media seemed eager to grade the conferences and seek clues from the conferences on the country's future. A common view is that the two conferences are squarely addressing China's new problems, seeking effective solutions and defining "China's Dream" more clearly.
The two sessions connected with the 18th Party Congress last autumn with the link of China's Dream. The world sees the strong will of the Communist Party of China and the nation through these conferences. The two sessions reflect the strong executive powers of Chinese governments, which ensure that the CPC's principles and spirits be put into practice and serve the nation's interests.
It is increasingly a consensus among foreign scholars that China's two sessions are more focused on China's domestic issues to better improve people's livelihood, and most delegates have a strong sense of responsibility to the people. Each year's sessions mark concrete step forward to the objective of building a xiaokang, or well-off, society in China.
China's two sessions increase the cohesive powers of China's political system and society. This is the main reason the international community gave the conferences high marks.
