Kids the products of upbringing
Comment on "Half of families have boomerang children" (China Daily website, May 7)
Most Chinese children haven't really grown up. They are not mature enough.
The fault lies with their over-indulgent parents. Chinese parents treat their only child like a treasure.
They pamper the child from cradle to adulthood, unwilling to loosen their tight grip on them, and telling them how to lead their lives, even telling them who they can date and marry and interfering in their married lives.
Over-indulgent, on China Daily website
It simply shows that families are tightly knit. Parents trust their children enough to give them money before they pass away, and children in turn take care of their aging parents later on.
Those who are used to a different family attitude overseas should not criticize this Chinese phenomenon, as it is common in China.
