Facing up to the past
Comment on "Japan should learn from Germany" (China Daily, Feb 28)
I currently live in China and have visited the Nanjing massacre museum, and I totally agree with this article.
I have lived in Germany for six years and found the Germans to be frank about their past, even though they do not like to talk about it. The Germans today are respected throughout the world, because they face up to their past.
Unfortunately, many Japanese still hurt the Chinese by distorting the facts of history.
