The US needs self correction

Comment on "US: Terrorists look to implant bombs in humans" (Agencies, July 7)
"People traveling to the US from overseas may experience additional screening at airports because of the threat, according to the Transportation Security Administration."
Is this added procedure wise or needed? A lengthy scan is already emplaced.
If a terrorist was able to get on board a US bound plane without detection, he could detonate the device when the plane landed and as a result kill a large number of people including possible destruction to parts of the airport. Or he could wait until he was in the airport queuing up for his turn to check in and blow himself up killing many people too.
What the US should do is self correction and doing the right thing so that no one would want to hurt people in the US. Another right thing the US can do is to share such advance technology with all countries and have proper and high tech equipment in their respective airports so that would be terrorists would not have the chance to get to the US without being detected first. This is known as helping the others to help oneself. This is a situation where sharing is vital.
My take is: the best option for the US is to self correct and not be the abuser of might and a bully. If only it had focus on its own internal problems and be less mindful of others, it would not be so earmarked for acts of terrorism. Sleepless night can be very stressful. Why be a forceful number one?
