Comment on "China suspends approvals for new nuclear plants" (China Daily website, March 16)
A review is probably a good public relations move. But the Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima was built in 1970, and technology today is far more advanced than in the 1970s.
If a serious accident involving a 40-year-old car, I don't think we should ban driving altogether.
It always pays to check and recheck something to safeguard against accidents, especially if it concerns so many people. But perhaps we are overreacting to the radiation scare in Japan.
