The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show has just concluded this month. As usual, it has generated animated discussions on social media platforms at home and abroad.
Top models work hard to show off their amazing figures and, most of all, promote the brand’s goods in high-profile settings while audiences clap loudly time and time again.
The fashion gala offers the public a feast for eyes and also attracts hundreds of celebrities and entertainers each year with terrific performances.
Most Chinese people began to know the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in the 2010s as more Chinese supermodels have come to the stage.
Chinese model Liu Wen, who joined the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, was the first Asian model to take part. After that, He Sui, Xi Mengyao and Ju Xiaowen have appeared in turns in the show. And it is worth noting that He Sui has been strutting down the catwalk for seven years in row since 2011.
The 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was taped Nov 20 in Shanghai, China at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, marking the first time it has been held in Asia. And seven Chinese faces delighted the fashion gala with passion and confidence.
The whole show usually consists of several different show segments. This year, it was divided into Punk Angels, Porcelain Angels, Winter's Tales, Millenial Nation, Goddesses and Nomadic Angels.
In comparison with the current lavish event, with elaborate costumed lingerie and music by leading singers, the first show was held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City in August 1995 with a goal of marketing the brand for Valentine's Day.
So far, the show has been held in only seven cities: New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Cannes, Paris, London and Shanghai.
Now, let’s review some classic moments from the show’s past 22 years.
