Xi'an hosts international education forum
The first Liangjiatan International Education Forum was held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Oct 9.
Also marking the official opening of Xi'an Liangjiatan International School, the event was jointly hosted by XLIS and the Xi'an High-tech International Community Construction Development Company, with Li Yi, Party chief of the Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone, and Ddeputy Mayor of Xi’an Fang Guanghua unveiling the school's nameplate at the forum.
Some 17 scholars of international education from the University of Southern California were appointed as community counselors, offering suggestions for the development of basic and higher education at XLIS.
"Xi'an's international community and XLIS will address education issues for foreign and top talent living in the city, further improving international support facilities in Xi'an," said Li.
Accompanied by speeches on international education, school management and leadership from the USC scholars, Zhao Chunping, deputy director of the Xi'an education bureau, presented the development outlook of international education in Xi'an and Cathy Krop, assistant professor of clinical education at USC's Rossier School of Education, introduced the common elements of a thriving school system to the forum audience.
