Gong Li was awarded Best Actress of the Volpi Cup at the 49th Venice Film Festival in 1992, Best Actress at the 13th Golden Rooster Awards in 1993 and Best Female Actor at the fourth Golden Phoenix Awards in 1994 for her acting in the film "The Story of Qiu Ju."
