In Tibet the spring comes later than inland and the local farmers have began their one-year cultivating in the vast highland barley demonstrative field in Dranpa village, Nyingchi in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region.
The crop being well taken care of is an improved new species of highland barley named "Highland Barley 2000" featured with high yield, anti-virus and high nutritional value. It is not only the Tibetans' principal food, but also their life and hope.
