Chinese women speak better English than men: survey

A recent survey on English proficiency levels showed that Chinese women speak better English than men.
The survey also showed that China has a low English proficiency level.
The survey - Education First's English Proficiency Index - is considered one of the most authoritative rankings of English ability.
The survey examined 1.7 million people in 54 countries where English is not the native language.
The 11 countries with the highest English proficiency levels are all in Europe. Sweden ranked first, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands.
China ranked 36th, the second-lowest position in Asia.
