Draft cursive script
Calligrapher Chen Jusuo, 73, who is known for draft cursive script, or zhangcao, will hold his exhibition in Beijing. Born in Yuanping city, Shanxi province, Chen has studied calligraphy and painting since childhood and has been awarded as a national first class artist. More than 100 of his calligraphy works from the past three decades, which contained traditional draft cursive script style and also self-created style, will be displayed at the exhibition.

Rising stars
The award-winning and shortlisted works for the 7th Aussino Annual Nomination Awards for Art Majors are on show at Today Art Museum. The exhibition features more than 140 oil and ink paintings, sculptures, installations, mixed media works by art students from art academies throughout China and around the world. Works by 27 art students and art groups, selected from some 3,000 works, won the awards on July 18 at the museum in Beijing.

UK creatives
Fans of the Olympics who cannot make it to London are invited to the London 2012 Olympic Posters Exhibition. It features a collection of prints created by 12 leading UK artists to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Each image is a distinct interpretation of either the Olympic or Paralympic Games by the individual artists. The diversity of the series demonstrates the extraordinary creative talents in the UK.

Emerging artists
The offline preview of the online auctioneer hihey.com's July sales is being held at Today Art Museum. On show are more than 100 artworks by young students. The exhibits will go under the hammer from July 27-29 on the website.

Family and friends
Dai Pingjun, a young artist from Hunan province, is holding his first solo show at Phoenix Gallery in 798 Art Zone in northeastern Beijing.
The gallery's inaugural exhibition features some 40 of Dai's latest creations, mostly oil portraits of his family members, neighbors in his home villages in Pingjiang county, Hunan province, and his friends from the art circles.
