Lu Yuanxiong, a professor of the double bass piano and pianist Jose Feghali will present a concert titled Legend Sound in Shanghai.
Audiences will be treated to Shanghai Legend, a work created specifically for this concert by Robert Garwell, a good friend of Lu Yuanxiong.
The concert features the works of Schubert, Chopin, Debussy, and Nasa Lei styles. It also includes the rarely heard double bass work of Chanson Triste composed by the world-renowned double bass virtuoso Serge Koussevitzky and Newspaper Boy. The latter is a creation of Wang Liansan, one of the earliest Chinese cello educators.
10:30 am, July 22. Shanghai Concert Hall, 523 Yanan Zhonglu, Shanghai. 021-5386-6666.
