Magic feast
Four magicians from Spain, Germany and the United States will perform on two days at the capital's Poly Theater.
Miguel Puga from Spain is a famous card master and started exploring magic at the age of 4. Tim Mark from Germany performs with sticks. Miguel Giau of Spain is known for coin wizardry. US magician Rock Dyrano can suddenly have food in his hands and is known for his humorous style.
This is the fourth year that the theater has put on magic shows during the summer.

BBC Orchestra
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales Concert will take the stage in Beijing. The concert in Beijing will include compositions from Mozart, Debussy and Johann Strauss, as well as Chinese composer Chen Qigang.

Poetic textures
Ma Nan is a dynamic young artist trained in the ancient techniques of calligraphy and seal cutting.
Her work combines China's traditional calligraphic art forms with modern oil painting techniques in her own style.
Her three-dimensional interpretation of traditional calligraphy creates multilayered compositions incorporating elements from a wide range of styles and eras. Oversized hand-cut seals give sculptural form to the abstract symbols and ancient characters.

Shanghai Tango
Shanghai Tango is the peak collection of dancer Jin Xing's recent artistic work. It embraces 10 choreographic works including Half Dream, for which Jin Xing was named "best choreographer" at the American Dance Festival 1991. She also brought the Shanghai Tango to Europe in 2004, to critical raves.

Rosy tints
Liuli Gongfang, a company that was founded in 1987 in Taiwan, has become one of the most famous brands of colored glaze in the world - collected by museums such as Victoria & Albert in London, Corning Museum of Glass in New York and the Palace Museum in Beijing.
This exhibition's theme is Faith, which aims to present the procedures of colored glaze revivals though 25 pieces produced by the Liuli Gongfang and 262 pieces of ancient colored glaze provided by Liuli China Museum.

Hong Kong
Ocean Park walrus
The latest addition to Ocean Park, 12-year-old Miru the Pacific walrus, is settling nicely into her new home after previously residing at Aquamarine Fukushima in Japan.
She was relocated to Kamogawa Sea World after last year's tsunami before arriving in Hong Kong.
Visitors can also see Rock, her male companion, along with the snowy owls, spotted seals and northern sea lions at Ocean Park's new Polar Adventure attraction.

Macao
Brick by brick
For the first time since its 2006 inception, the Macao multimedia extravaganza This Is My City moves beyond Macao and will have concurrent exhibitions in Portugal and Beijing. This year, the theme is Brick by Brick - Building a Bridge, to symbolize the exploration of alternative ways to experience and appropriate our cities. It is an event designed "for the global inscription of a local difference" and "for the global difference of a local inscription."
