The 2012 China Youth Leader Awards recently wrapped up in Beijing, presenting prizes to recipients in nine fields.
Organized by the Guangzhou-based magazine Southern People Weekly, the annual event, which began in 2005, aims to identify and recognize model youths who excel or inspire their peers to make contributions to society.
This year's awardees include Wu Xiubo, an actor who rose to stardom for his portrait of righteous characters in a series of TV hits, and Sun Chunlong, a former investigative journalist who helped 20 army veterans from China, who lived in exile in Myanmar after World War II, return home in the past year.
