Recipe | Turmeric fried chicken
Ingredients (serve 4 to 6):
4 to 6 whole chicken legs, separated into thigh and drumsticks
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon corn starch
3 tablespoons plain flour
Method:
1. Coat the chicken pieces with the turmeric powder, flour, corn flour and salt. The best way is to place everything in a zip-lock bag and shake well to coat.
2. Heat up 2 cm oil in a deep sauce pan and fry the chicken pieces, about 8 minutes on each side, over medium heat. They should turn a lovely, golden brown.
3. Watch that the chicken pieces do not burn. When the chicken juices run clear when pierced with a fork, remove from heat and drain on kitchen paper.
