A gourmet food festival opened Wednesday at the Wanfeng Food Street in southwest Beijing's Fengtai district. About one hundred fine dishes prepared by famous restaurants in the district, including some winning dishes of a recently concluded cooking competition, were displayed during the openning ceremony. The event, which is sponsored by Fengtai District Catering Industry Association, will last one month through October 25 and around 20 high-end restaurants will present less expensive dishes during the period in a bid to woo more lower-end consumers.
