Biggest restaurant in Lhasa carries forward Tibetan food culture

Currently, "Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant" opened a branch, which offers innovative dishes according to customers'demands besides the traditional varieties of food. Ninety percent of the innovative dishes materials are from local areas and typically Tibetan flavor.

At present, people can enjoy over 100 kinds of dishes in"Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant", including some 30 to 40traditional dishes, such as Tibetan-style chaffy dish, sheep lung, black pudding, roast mutton chops and grilled beef steak.

To ensure the original taste and flavor of Tibetan food, the head chef of "Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant" will lead a group to go up to the mountains to pick traditional wild spices every year, like wild onion and wild garlic that are used in cooking authentic Tibetan meals after being dried and processed.

The dinning environment also fully reflects the Tibetan culture, like the inside Tibetan-style decorations, traditional Tibetan square tables and Tibetan menus.

Tsering Chogyel says that he hopes customers, inland visitors in particular, could fully feel the unique characteristic of Tibetan culture while enjoying the delicious Tibetan food.

At present, there are over 180 staff from Tibetan agricultural and pastoral areas working in the "Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant", where they can not only earn a bread, but also improve their knowledge.

"Having a dinner here is just like eating at a Tibetan friend's home, considering its authentic flavors and warm and caring environment," said a customer.

Now,"Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant" is the largest Tibetan-style restaurant in Lhasa. It not only carries forward the traditional Tibetan food, but also fully embodies the Tibetan culture in its meals.

In May, 2013, the "Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant" Co. , Ltd. was officially established, marking the"Pin Tsok Ge Don Restaurant" has entered a new development stage.
