Chinese student shows Edinburgh University is world class

University of Edinburgh, one of the UK's leading universities, chose a Chinese student and other three international students to lead an global marketing campaign.
Yue Jiang from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is one of four international students chosen to lead the World Class Edinburgh campaign. She is in the final year of an accounting and finance degree at the University of Edinburgh.
The Chinese student features in a two-minute film that showcases the diverse culture and beauty in one of Europe's most vibrant cities. The film also highlights the world-class education offered by the University of Edinburgh.
Marketing Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh will work together to promote Scotland's capital city and the University around the world.
The University of Edinburgh is ranked 17th in the prestigious world QS rankings and recognised as a global hub of innovation and research excellence.
Edinburgh welcomed 1,859 Chinese students studying a range of postgraduate and undergraduate courses throughout the academic year 2014/15.
More than 14,000 international students studied at the University over the same period.
Talking about her experiences in Edinburgh, Yue Jiang said: "Edinburgh was always my ideal university during high school years because it's in one of the most important financial centres in Europe. It's a very global city with a world class reputation in business and culture."
"I love exploring Edinburgh. I found Scottish people very friendly and fun. I've discovered more than the city's rich culture and long history. The environment in Edinburgh has changed me. I've discovered my own independence."
Professor Timothy O'Shea, University of Edinburgh Principal, said, "As a university with a strong international reputation, rooted firmly in Scotland's capital, we are committed to attracting the best students from around the world. Edinburgh is a highly attractive destination for students. This campaign will help to raise awareness of the exceptional educational experience that the University – and the wider city – offers to those who choose to study here."
